Couscous is a fantastic, all-around pasta composed of tiny grains of durum wheat that are steamed. Makes a great breakfast cereal, ingredient in salads, and sweetened as a dessert. Usually used as an addition for soups or sauces in the same way as rice. Couscous delivers a low fat supply of fibre and complex carbohydrates, with essentially no sugar.
Directions: Add 1 1/2 cups boiling water or stock and a knob of butter or olive oil to 1 cup couscous in a bowl. Cover and wait for 15 minutes. Then stir with a fork.
About the brand...
In 1982, some like-minded Kiwis got together with the same idea of making organic food accessible to New Zealand families. They were certain that organics was the future, and with that in mind CERES was born. That 'future' is now, and we are excited to be bringing this range of over 150 quality organic whole food products to Australian families, and helping to return food back to its traditional ways.
