SYLK was picked up off of compost bins in the 80s. Yep, That’s right. To reduce waste and to fully utilize the national fruit (and everything that it was related to), NZ’s government appointed some scientists to conduct studies on the leftover kiwi vine that was sent to compost bins after kiwi harvest. It was discovered that Kiwifruit Vine Gum, produced as a by-product, had a slippery and watery texture and could be used as a natural and vegan alternative of vaginal lubricant. From this simple discovery SYLK was born! And for over 30 years, SYLK has been helping women of Australia and New Zealand to address vaginal dryness.
