Founder of The Australian Superfood Co, Hayley Blieden (BNutDiet, M.B.A.) knew she wanted to create a range of products which promote the beauty of Aboriginal wisdom combined with Australian superfoods. Through development of The Australian Superfood Co Bars, Hayley has created an accessible range of products that respects Indigenous culture and promote the local health-conscious food movement to the whole world.
The Australian Superfood Co. is the story of one person’s food odyssey and her subsequent determination to bring Australian superfoods to the table of all Australians. For registered dietician and nutritionist Hayley Blieden, she first became aware of the history and power of Australian superfoods when she visited the Northern Territory on a fact finding trip. There she found that health problems had multiplied in indigenous communities since the bush tucker that had sustained the communities for many generations had been rejected in favour of a poor Western diet featuring processed food. Hayley’s time spent in the Northern Territory gave her the knowledge that Australian bush tucker was indeed a genuine Aussie superfood and from here the Australian Superfoods Co. was born.
