The Gilly’s brand is the creation of a woman with a love for antique furniture. Theirs was a serendipitous start, with Gilly Stephenson crafting the first Gilly’s product from her home kitchen in a bid to restore her own antique furniture that had emigrated to Australia with her from the UK. Using West Australian Beeswax blended with carnauba wax and other natural ingredients, the purity of her furniture polish soon caught on with local crafters and dealers seeking out her products. Today, with an expansive range designed to enhance, restore and care for all your favourite wood furnishings, Gilly’s products can be found around the world. But that doesn’t mean it’s not still a family-run business, with Gilly’s descendants taking the reins after she passed away to carry on her legacy and the much-loved family business.

Gilly Stephenson, founder of Gilly’s, and her family emigrated to Australia from the UK in 1968 bringing with them a collection of antique furniture. Crafting her own polish-concoction to restore her beloved antique furniture, Gilly stumbled on a business without even realising it. It wasn’t long before friends started to notice the quality of her polish with makers and dealers following soon after. Soon, she found herself whizzing around town in her Mini, selling her homemade goods and trying to keep up with demand. Today the Gilly brand continues to be a highly sought after natural product range that can be used on all types of wood finishings. Praised for its natural ingredients and ability to revamp or enhance just about any wood they come into contact with.
