Buderim Ginger is a long-standing and proudly successful Australian business that has come a long way since its humble beginnings pre World War I, when some raw ginger pieces found their way to a small farming community. Buderim's rich volcanic soil and subtropical climate made it the ideal location for growing ginger.
With ginger supply from China halted in the midst of the Second World War, demand for Buderim's locally-produced crop skyrocketed. As a result, five Buderim farmers gathered together in an old blacksmith’s shop and formed The Buderim Ginger Grower’s Co-operative Association Limited with 25 pounds of capital and 14 tons of green ginger. Drawing on their Australian spirit and determination, these brave pioneers worked tirelessly to ensure that their ginger-based products would thrive in an ever-changing world.
Over time, the company grew to become a world leading producer of ginger products, known for their quality and commitment to sustainability.
With a proud history spanning two World Wars and beyond, Buderim Ginger is recognized as one of the world's finest ginger producers, food processors, and tourist destinations.
