In 1982, some like-minded Kiwis got together with the same idea of making organic food accessible to New Zealand families. They were certain that organics was the future, and with that in mind CERES was born. That 'future' is now, and we are excited to be bringing this range of over 150 quality organic whole food products to Australian families, and helping to return food back to its traditional ways.

Based closely on the pioneering teaching philosophy of Rudolf Steiner, Ceres is a NZ-based biodynamic and organic store with a proud history. The enterprise was founded as the first organic food shop in New Zealand in 1984 by a team including four people who remain at the helm of the company: Elaine Beadle, Noel Josephson, David King and Rodnie Whitlock. Since that time the store has expanded its philosophy, growing into one of the best known and most loved of organic sellers in the country while expanding to become a major exporter to the Australasian market.
