You may know of guar from the food additive guar gum, which is used as a thickener in foods due to its high viscosity (ability to thicken). PHGG is different to guar gum because it is âpre-digestedâ using hydrolysation, reducing itâs thickening actions but keeping the same gut-loving properties. As PHGG ferments slowly, it is FODMAP friendly making it ideal for those who are sensitive to other great but rapid fermenting fibres like inulin and fructooligosaccharides.
