Niugini Organics was born from the personal journey of Debra Hill and her husband Dennis. They founded their company out of a genuine desire to revive the coconut industry on their native island Emirau, in Papua New Guinea.
Driven by Dennis's background in agricultural science and Debra's deep connection to her homeland they began experimenting with small-scale coconut oil production on Kar Kar Island during the early 1990’s. This endeavour organically evolved into Tropic Frond Oils Limited and the Niugini Organics brand.
Despite facing setbacks such as volcanic eruptions that devastated their initial operations they have remained resilient and committed to supporting local communities and bottling up a bit of their homeland for the world to enjoy.
Niugini Organics 100% Raw Organic Virgin Coconut Oil and handcrafted soaps are made from wild-harvested and traditionally farmed Papua New Guinea coconuts, cold-pressed to preserve their natural goodness, and packaged in stylish reusable Kilner glass jars. Extracted without heat, their coconut oil retains the highest levels of tocopherol antioxidants (Vitamin E), offering your body a natural defence against free radicals.
Niugini Organics is committed to fair trade and traditional farming practices, organic certification, and supporting land ownership and industry by local Tolai peoples of the Gunanur, Napapar, and Vungogo villages. And being our closest pacific neighbour, their coconut oil has the least food miles of any other coconut oil in Australia!
