Organic India works with small farmers and tribal wild-crafters on the subcontinent to spread sustainable organic and biodynamic agricultural practices that offer them a reliable income through growing Ayurvedic medicinal herbs for export. Organic India’s flagship product is their extensive line of tulsi (holy basil) based herbal teas.
From diverse origins, the founders of Organic India came together on a pilgrimage to the northern Indian town of Lucknow, where they studied under H.W.L. Poonja. The guru commonly called Papaji imparted many simple lessons, but the largest of all was his own life of service to others. Following his example, the new friends founded a business designed to provide a sustainable livelihood for hard-pressed small farmers through organic and biodynamic agriculture that would produce export-grade herbal products. The success of Organic India has now led many other Indian farmers to adopt these environmentally responsible practices as well.
