Warming Spiced Quinoa Porridge

Cosy up with this deliciously creamy spiced quinoa porridge on those chilly winter mornings, for a nourishing way to start the day.

Quinoa is an excellent alternative for oats, providing a unique nutty flavour and a good dose of protein and fibre as well as essential minerals, vitamins and antioxidants. It's gluten free, vegan friendly, and can be topped with just about anything, making it a versatile breakfast you can enjoy all winter long.



  • ½ cup White Quinoa
  • 1 cup Coconut Milk (more if needed)
  • 1 banana, chopped
  • ¼ cup Sultanas
  • 1 tbsp Almond Butter
  • ¼ cup Coconut Yogurt (or yogurt of choice)
  • Ground Cinnamon (a good pinch)
  • Ginger Powder (a good pinch)


  1. Combine quinoa, coconut milk, sultanas, banana, and spices in a pot and simmer over a medium heat for around 15 minutes, or until the quinoa is cooked.
  2. Add more liquid if needed to reach your desired creamy consistency.
  3. Remove from the heat and stir through the almond butter, top with coconut yoghurt, and any other toppings of choice (warm berries or stewed fruit works well!). Serve hot.
